All-Tuesday League Team
The top performers in Tuesday Night – Competitive 1 League for the fall season have been chosen! Here is the squad:
Manager: Teddy Stevens, Tulane did a fantastic job to organize his team to fill the place of Arsenal in mid-season. Teddy brought a strong side, and we look forward to having them back to compete.
GK: Aaron “The Man, The Myth” Schleicher, The Ronnies had a great showing this season to fortify The Ronnies’ defense. With many spectacular saves, he has been the difference in many close matches and will surely play a crucial role as the play-offs move forward.
Tom Fahl, The Ronnies has deceptive skill and tight control. He creates clever attack, keeps the ball for his team and finds the net regularly for The Ronnies.
Steven Morris, Uptown loves chasing down the ball and creating scoring chances for his teammates. Steven keeps his game simple and under control as glides by players with blistering pace.
Zinga, Young Fly Society is a clever striker who provided plenty of dramatic goals and exciting moments for his team. He was a hand-full for every defense who saw him this season.
Gustavo Viro, Doodz provided solid all-around play for a strong Doodz squad. Whether finding seems to lead his team in attack or holding down the back line, Gustavo gets the job done with class and few complaints.
Matt Millet, Gamblers Goals on ye.
Stuart Schmidt, Throat Yogurt FC provided enough hammer-strikes to build a shopping mall. Stuart led a much improved Throat Yogurt team with many exciting late goals, which lands him on the team of the season.

Tuesday Night Competition
Tuesday Nights have become a battle ground for those teams playing in The Leagues. The games are always ultra-exciting and typically come down a final late goal or a late heroic clincher. Atypically for this point in the season, there is no clear dominant team or favorite to win the playoffs…no matter how you look at it.
Take last night’s scores:
Tulane/Doodz: 4/6 with Tulane leading for most of the game and barely not able to withstand a late Doodz rally. This is the difference between top and bottom of the table. Keep in mind, this is a Tulane team that is stepping in mid-season to fill in for another team. They have only just had time to begin to get acclimated to the field, so their performances thus far are impressive.
Gamblers/Throat Yogurt: 4/4 was a classic see-saw battle that ended with a upper-corner bomb in the closing minutes to bring Throat Yogurt level at 4 a piece. A win for either team would have put them in a comfortable second in the division.
Glass Half-Full/Young Fly Society: 9/3 , Glass Half-Full put on a display of finishing. “Peter had 3. Mike had 3. Christian has 1…” and so on. They pulled it together to find the goal numerous times. With that, DO NOT let Young Fly’s scores deceive you. This is a skilled and spirited side that moved up from the Competitive 4 league and has proven a more than worthy competitor for every team they have faced this season. They out-shoot and out-possess most of their opponents, only to narrowly miss the goal. Most of their goals allowed have come as a result of late-game breakdowns, should they fall behind. However, they are showing great signs of improvement in the area of discipline. This team should make the playoffs, and if they can pull it together by then, and play a full match without losing their heads, look out!
Ronnies/Uptown: 7/6 Two pre-season favorites to win the league facing off as the second and third place teams in their division, respectively. This game was a dual. The score line speaks for itself:
R1/U0…R1/U1…R2/U1…R3/U1…R3/U2…R4/U2…R4/U3…R5/U3…R5/U4…R5/U5…R5/U6…R6/U6…R7/U6
If you have not been out to see the Tuesday competition, definitely do it!
